The Spanish Association of Manufacturers and Distributors (AECOC) has just awarded Ebro the first “Lean & Green Star” owed to its achievement of reducing by 20% its logistic processes emissions in Spain. This award ceremony took place during the VII Sustainable Logistics Day, in Madrid, promoted by AECOC.
The achievement of this first star is an important milestone as we have managed to reach the reduction targets well ahead of the established time limit. In fact, the reduction achieved is over 35%, which will allow us the possibility to be entitled to the third star next year, once the data, already certified by an external auditor, will be validated by AECOC.
This compromise is compelled in one of the Group’s main action pillars framed within the Group’s General Sustainability Plan “HEADING TOWARDS 2030”, which is to minimise the environmental impact of our business activity.
Lean&Green (https://www.aecoc.es/servicios/leangreen-espana/), is the largest European collaborative platform aimed at reducing emissions associated with the supply chain. It is an international initiative that aims to help companies in all sectors to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions from logistics activities in order to achieve the Paris Climate Summit (COP21) targets of carbon neutral emissions by 2050.
