An easing in energy costs could help improve the full-year result by approximately €30 million.

The Group has successfully closed the first nine months of the financial year in a challenging environment shaped by rising energy and logistics costs driven by geopolitical tensions and conflicts in the Middle East, adverse foreign exchange movements and an increase in the average US tariff rate. The rise in energy and plastic packaging costs alone has resulted in an additional cost of €22.5 million so far this year, which has not yet been passed through to prices. These factors have been compounded by heatwaves in Europe – which have reduced consumption in certain categories, such as fresh pasta – as well as by seasonal plant shutdowns.

In terms of growth, during Q3 the Group completed the acquisition of the Best Rice specialist rice business in the United States. It also continued to make progress on expanding Ebrofrost’s production capacity for frozen products, the new production lines and automated warehouse for Garofalo, and the investment in Bertagni’s new plant in Saint Charles (Missouri), which will enable local production to be gradually phased in over the course of 2027.

Turning to the main financial indicators, Net debt stood at €450.1 million, €79.3 million below the 2025 year-end figure and down 22.2% year on year. This followed a €111 million CAPEX investment, €111.6 million in dividend payments and the completion of the $47 million acquisition of Best Rice.

Net profit amounted to €150.1 million, 2.7% below the figure for 9M 2025, which included an exceptional capital gain of €12 million from the sale of a warehouse in France.

Revenue amounted to €2,223.9 million, down 2.3% year on year, reflecting lower raw material prices and the depreciation of the US dollar.

EBITDA-A reached €307.0 million, just 1.4% below the figure for 9M 2025, despite a negative impact of €4.9 million from foreign exchange movements.

For the full year, the Group expects EBITDA-A to stand at between €410 million and €415 million, a very satisfactory result given the challenging circumstances. This forecast includes an estimated negative foreign exchange impact of between €4 million and €5 million.

Business performance

Rice Division

The Rice Division delivered a strong Q3 across its key markets.

In terms of raw materials, inventories carried over from the previous season and low-priced imports from EBA countries have put downward pressure on prices in Spain. By contrast, reduced cultivated acreage in the United States, higher rice prices in the Southern Cone and the effects of El Niño in Asia have all pushed prices higher in these markets.

In terms of business performance, Spain reported a strong performance from SOS®, as well as an 11% increase in sales of microwaveable rice cups from the Brillante® and Sabroz® brands. In France, the Group has achieved a 25% market share in this category. Riviana continues to gain market share in the United States, both in aromatic rice and premium speciality rice, with its share of the ready-to-serve (RTS) category reaching 23.3%. Tilda continues to make progress in microwaveable products in the UK and grew by 21% in the Middle East, despite the challenging environment created by the succession of conflicts in the region.

Overall, the Division’s sales amounted to €1,708.7 million, while EBITDA-A reached €255.4 million.

Pasta Division

The Pasta Division faced a challenging Q3. Heatwaves and inflation affected consumption of fresh pasta in Europe, while exports from the European subsidiaries to the United States were impacted by the weakness of the US dollar, the introduction of a 10% tariff and higher energy and logistics costs.

From a commercial perspective, Lustucru increased its sales volumes in France, driven primarily by gnocchi and the strong reception of its pan-fried filled pasta. Garofalo continued to grow in Italy and maintained double-digit growth in Spain and the United States, following the resolution of operational difficulties arising from the implementation of SAP HANA during H1.

The Division also continues to make progress on its organic growth projects in both Italy and the United States.

Against this backdrop, the Division’s sales amounted to €518.7 million and EBITDA-A reached €63.9 million.

The Group successfully closes the first nine months of the financial year against a highly challenging backdrop of rising energy and logistics costs, increasing US tariffs and adverse foreign exchange movements.
